To AAU Events, that is.

Raoul raises an exisential question for college coaches and staff:

"This weekend, April 19-21, is an evaluation period on the D-I WBB recruiting calendar. Will coaches be on the road recruiting high school prospects or stay on campus hosting transfer portal targets?"

Druthers: If memory holds, ND usually splits its coaches up and sends them various AAU events. If there is a portal prospect who is interested, hot in the market and has an interest in the Dome, I'd split the difference: Keep Niele and the appropriate position coach on campus and send the others to the AAU events. (That said, Carlos Knox can only recruit on campus so he's a good guy to always have around.)

Any other thoughts?

They need to go, especially the head coach.

Whether it's a high school game, an AAU game, a Team USA game, they need to be there, especially if it's an elite recruit.

How many times have you read that (fill-in-blank's) attendance made a big impression on a recruit? When we were going after Bueckers and Fudd it seemed like Geno was more present than Muffet at their games, and that they noticed that.

Look at the elite recruits Niele has landed. Didn't she go to Spain to watch Hannah play for Team USA, and didn't she go to Hungary to watch Koval?

For an elite recruit the head coach+ goes. No question.

But give ND can fly her anywhere rapidly she needs to come back if there's a needed transfer.

Just don't do anything dumb to lose out on recruits you want.
