Maybe this is a pipe dream

I hope that Notre Dame re-thinks its public access to the football program.

I watched 30 seconds of Kelly's initial meeting his players at LSU, and came away with the same feeling provoked by those IKON videos of Kelly's pregame, halftime, and postgame speeches. He's got a template ("standard" "day-to-day" "relative to" among other recycled catch phrases) that he can roll out regardless of the program--GVSU, CMU, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, LSU are all fungible.

Let the next coach at Notre Dame tap into more genuine, organic feelings about the team, our school, his coaches and staff to craft his message--a message unique to Notre Dame and to his own self. Let him say unvarnished words in intense moments of excitement or despair. Let them say a team prayer without it being broadcast on the goddamned video board.

It really wouldn't take much. It all can be filmed for posterity and dumped into the Notre Dame Archives, if they really think that's necessary. But the video editors at Notre Dame (who seem to always think that MORE IS BETTER) need to be directed to exercise restraint. There still will be plenty of content to display on social media and elsewhere.
