That's a bit of a gut punch. It sure sounded like Freeman and ND had a great shot at him.

ND also went from presumed leader for 5-star Malik Muhammad.

… to not even in his just released top-12. He’s a cornerback.

Just a pure speculative thought - is word circulating in that world that once the coaching carousel begins, Cincinnati will lose Fickell and Freeman will be his obvious replacement? Thus rendering of course, Freeman one and done in South Bend?

Styles isn’t a “shock” but this Malik Muhammad thing has recruiting experts scratching their heads.

Sounds like whoever thought ND was a presumed leader

Was misinformed or misread his comments.

If you don’t make the final 12 I’m not sure you can say we ever really led

Have to admit, that is a surprise. I thought with the high

I thought we had him. This is definitely not a "bullet dodged" thing. Sonny is an incredible player and seems like a helluva kid.

I'm going to continue about my day in the belief that Sonny is heading to Columbus because he knew Nwankpa was coming to South Bend.

Is Nwankpa presumed to be an Iowa lean at this point? * *

Jaylon Smith and Rod Smith, and Mike Heuerman and Jeff Heuerman were reversed.

It is interesting that it seems there's a trend of one brother going to OSU and one going to ND. Eichenbergs, Heuermans, Smiths, now Styles. Trying to think of others.

Mike and Willie Townsend both at ND.

Tim played for Devine and was an OL captain on the 1977 ND title team.
