5 runs in, bases loaded (again), no outs

and we haven't yanked our starting pitcher?

Not sure I've ever seen two worse back-to-back outings by ND starting pitching against anyone, much less Tennessee Tech.

What a pitching line: 9 batters faced, 5 hits (gtand slam), 3 BBs, 1 HBP and 9 earned runs.

Don't know anything about depth, tired arms, etc., but I'm guessing anyone paying attention wanted the guy to get relieved earlier (well, aside from the opposing dugout).

It's still early in the season, but methinks we have

a starting pitching problem.

Agreed…what’s the answer: a TB Rays thing?

And basically have a “starter in name only” with every game a bullpen game?

We’ve used this approach in a number of games already *

Coach recognizes a deficiency and is trying to mitigate it

If we're seeing similar patterns when the ACC season

arrives, it won't surprise me if coach uses his best relievers, as necessary on Friday, with the idea that they may be able to contribute another inning or two on Sunday. It almost becomes a game of 'what approach gives us the best chance to win the series (2 of 3).'

Agreed. But we also don't quit - lead cut to 9-6 *

Pitching needs work, ability to comeback multiple times and from big deficits is pretty impressive (albeit, against Tennessee Tech this weekend).
