Natural Enemies:
Frontrunners, ESPNIdiots, vapid reality show "stars" and self-serving biased media types.
Athletic Ability:
I used to play basketball every week in an over-40 league until I retired at 61 years old. I swim year round with my son A.J. I really like the Margate beach, so does A.J. My sit-on-top ocean kayak may be my most useful (yet modest) investment ever, especially for the welcome side benefits of peaceful tranquility. I have become a novice birdwatcher, with use of binoculars and assorted field guides, when I hike.
Sartorial Style:
Jeans and T-shirt, sometimes cowboy boots, surfer shorts and flip-flops. Notre Dame Jersey (Home or Away) on Gameday. Always.
Favorite Beverage and Consumption Freq:
I never met a beer I didn't like. Some favorites include Guinness Stout, Harp Lager, Mad Elf, Harpoon Winter Warmer, Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale, Saranac, Cape May Brewing, Blue Moon, & Sam Adam's seasonals (Winter Lager/Spring Ale.) I like Italian red wines too; (visited the Chianti region once.) Occasionally enjoy a nip of Jameson's while visiting NDNation late at night! Bourbon. Manhattans and Old-fashions rule!
Political Philosophy:
Fiscal Conservative; conservative on most, but not all, social issues as well. I'm striving to become more compassionate, (not quite there yet; still have more room to grow.) 10% of the most extreme right and 10% of the most far left appear to be the most vocal, but also the most divisive element, in our great nation. Too bad that it is that way. I think that most of the middle 80% are probably good folks. Twice per year, I work the Primary and General Elections as a courier in a local NJ district/ward. It is very interesting and gives me hope for the future.
Religious Philosophy:
3rd Deg.,K of C, All Saints Council #6277; Pro-life Catholic. Despite some of the Church's setbacks, I do feel proud, honored, and privileged to be a Catholic. In recent years, I have attended more Traditional Latin Mass. Also, I have prayed the Rosary more regularly to honor Our Lady. Vivat Jesus!
Musical Favorites:
The Band of The Fighting Irish, Chieftains, Andrea Boccelli, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Doors, The Moody Blues, Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis.
Favorite Quote from an ND Coach:
Lou Holtz, commenting from the ESPN studio on a particular player's lack of speed/quickness : "In a race with a pregnant woman, that young man would finish third."
Miscellaneous Data:
I have a very understanding wife (Andrea) who lets me be me. I am an avid college hoops fan who is extremely passionate about Villanova Basketball. Yet, I live for autumn Saturdays in South Bend. My Family & Friends look forward to our an annual pilgrimage. Notre Dame is truly a special place. The Grotto, Mass in the Basilica, etc. There is simply nowhere else like it. The football isn't half bad either. My son AJ has become a bigger fan than I. But we visit ND together.
