here is more fun Expected Goals data by plaid_pants

The MLS leaders in expected goals are all target men, since they get most of their opportunities directly in front of the net at close range:

Ola Kamara (CLB)_____5.99
CJ Sapong (PHI) _____4.97
Cubo Torres (HOU)____4.76
C.Ramirez (MN)_______4.69
F.Adi (POR)__________4.62
C.Larin (ORL)________4.44

The most efficient scorers lead the (Goals minus Expected Goals) category. They are either really lucky or lethal finishers. You be the judge on the Top 5:

Juan Agudelo (NE)____+3.50
David Villa (NYC)____+3.17
M. Urruti (DAL)______+3.14
J. Martinez (ATL)____+2.77
N.Nikolic (CHI)______+2.56

Last years leaders were Bradley Wright Phillips, Piatti, Dos Santos, Lampard and Altidore

The least efficient scorers (Goals minus Expected Goals) are either poor finisher or very unlucky so far and should be picked up on the cheap for your fantasy team...I edited the top 5 to remove part time players:

Bedoya (PHI)_________-1.81
Giles Barnes (ORL)___-1.63
Fagundez (NE)________-1.48
Royer (RBNY)_________-1.43
Clint Dempsey (SEA)__-1.20
M.Urena (SJ)_________-1.11
Jordan Morris (SEA)__-1.10

Nobody on this list was on this list in 2016

Expected Assist Leaders...making passes into dangerous areas:
Valeri (POR)_________3.27
Lodeiro(SEA)_________3.24
Kljestan (RBNY)______3.01
Feilhaber (KC)_______2.88
Moralez (NYC)________2.37
Nguyen (NE)__________2.37
Wondo (SJ)___________2.16

And this is clearly a skill. The season leaders from 2016 were Kljestan, Valeri, Nguyen, Lodeiro (corrected for playing time)
