This is not a vent board or any other kind of therapy. Before you hit the POST button, ask yourself if your contribution will add to the level of discussion going on.

Important notes on articles:

• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Compare the speeches and reactions to Kelly's address and Rees's. I know the news is opposite - "I'm leaving" versus "I'm staying" - but I think those short clips tell us a lot about those two men and how the players feel about them.

I don't know if Rees will be an amazing offensive coordinator. But I will say that I think he has produced above expectations fairly consistently. He certainly did it as a player (with some maddening errors at times) despite pretty obvious physical limitations. And he always seemed like a good teammate to those with greater physical gifts. Maybe he will do exceed expectations in this role as well. I sure hope so.

It was good to hear him say that he loved this place and wanted to win here. Not just because he said it, but because it seemed genuine. Has it ever seemed genuine for Kelly? Has anything?

I also like that Rees made a little self-deprecating joke in there, even in the heat of a big moment. And players responded to it, probably because they like him. And I appreciate that he explained to them that he couldn't answer questions right then, even though he wanted to. It shows he respects them and knows how they're feeling.

Finally, I like that he swore multiple times and the video had to be edited accordingly. It shows me it wasn't some scripted, made-for-TV BS. "Let's go win a f**king championship" sounded pretty nice.

I hope he wins more than one.
