Do fans of SEC football teams respect Brian Kelly? by Camarillo Brillo

My sense is, "no they do not."

I recall back in December of 2012, when it was announced that Notre Dame would play Alabama for the BCS title, a co-worker of mine who was a 'Bama fan said she and her fellow Tide fans were "relieved" when they found out Alabama was playing the Irish for the national championship. She said they were "worried we'd have to play a good team." It was kind of a shitty thing to say, very indicative of the SEC mentality. But of course, not wrong. Not at all.

You have to wonder what the Geaux Tigers crowd must be thinking right now. 10 years, 100 million bucks total compensation package. For a coach who only once came within 17 points of Nick Saban. Who lost to Kirby Smart twice. Who beat Dabo once, but only when his star QB and half his defense were on the bench. You would think that the LSU fans are pouring over Kelly's wins in the past 5 years. Temple. Miami of Ohio. Struggling to beat Vanderbilt and Ball State. Bowling Green. New Mexico. Not that LSU doesn't schedule patsies. But you know what I mean.

Finally, this: The gravy train is over for Kelly. No more friendly AD rationalizing, excusing, trying to turn chickenshit into chicken salad. There will be actual accountability. If Kelly thinks he's got 8-9 years to get his players, if he thinks the "new coat of paint" bullshit is going to fly in Baton Rouge, he's in for a very rude awakening.

Lotsa luck, Coach Kelly. Now, fuck off.
