As compensation rises (Mullen supposedly $7M+ a year) then by Raoul

higher turnover would be expected. In theory with greater reward goes greater risk. If you pay for top 10 finishes and CFP appearances, you should get that.

The $7M+ club includes/included Mullen, Franklin, Dabo Swinney, Jimbo Fisher, Nick Saban, Steve Sarkisian, Lincoln Riley, David Shaw, Ryan Day, Ed Orgeron and Kirby Smart. And supposedly our Brian Kelly now.

I think Shaw is an outlier as Stanford pays to keep him and wants him as a representative of their school, almost irrespective of performance now. I think the good fathers of ND are far more lenient than the other places, especially since BK is more well-behaved these days. I think the rest are pay for CFP appearances and beating your #1 rival. They are all at risk if they don't do that.

Jeff Brohm is also supposedly at $7M. That seems like crazy overpayment IMO even if he's a decent coach who could probably perform as well as BK at ND. But he doesn't deserve that money right now.

P.S. Did Harbaugh take a pay cut? I think he might have. He is listed at $6M. He realizes he can't justify $7M+ with his OSU record and zero CFP appearances. He needs both this year if he wants to stay long term at UM. After the loss to MSU the talk was he would resign at year end.
