Why was it so hard to tackle their QB? by Cards86

I know college football is TOTALLY different than the NFL but am I missing something with Sam Howell? He’s not that big. He’s not Murray or Jackson fast. He’s not even Jaylon Hurts. Yet, he ran with no fear. He took on DB’s and safety’s and ran through them and around them. Our DE couldn’t even bring him down on the intentional grounding call. He carried him like a sack of potatoes.

If Sam Howell tries that next year in the NFL he will get killed. Quite possibly literally. NFL DE’s throw around QB’s like rag dolls. Safety’s will lick their chops. Most of them are not significantly bigger than the players we have on defense

So is the answer just “want to” and “aggressiveness” and “desire”?

I think it is. I don’t think our defensive players are particularly nasty.

Sorry, just my thoughts.
