• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.

he knows he's incapable/doesn't have the desire to win one and/or doesn't want to deal with a fanbase/admin that actually provides pressure (unlike ND) and/or doesn't think ND as a program has intrinsically worse odds than LSU of winning a national championship.

We know he doesn't have a particular love for ND as an institution (not to insinuate he "dislikes" ND... I just don't think he cares about ND as a university for ND's own sake) or prior connection to South Bend. So why would he stay here rather than go to LSU? Perhaps because ND's a comfortable spot with low expectations/pressure compared to other major players (e.g., OSU, LSU, Alabama, Texas), and he can win 10+ games per season here and be mistakenly considered a "top-5 coach in America", without proving that's he actually not at that level by leading LSU to 9-3/8-4 records in the SEC West.
