Posit: Don’t blame Freeman for Kelly shifting D to 3 DL by MBOIrish

and spacing LBs far off line. 1. All could see that three man DL was not working. After game Kelly did not criticize that alignment but focused on execution and the space coverage. 2. Only an extremely stubborn person would stick to that alignment that was not working….who is that person? Maybe someone who throws the ball in a hurricane? 3. Kelly mentioned after game he expected offense to control ball and run out clock which is what he expected when going to an extreme prevent defense. 4. Analysts said we were gassed but we have three deep at each position on DL and that is with 4 DL on line. So we did not go to 3 DL line because we were gassed. 5. Someone please look up what Freeman did at C and I’ll bet the LBs never played that far off the line especially with only three DL. Freeman’s scheme is to attack, attack, attack. We could not attack from that defensive position. That was not Freeman’s plan. Then, whose plan was it? 6. Amazingly, Kelly let Freeman go back to a four man DL in overtime. Attack attack attack, so it did not matter who their qb was, attack, attack, attack.
