• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Both because he’s not a bad QB and I shouldn’t have called him that, you’re correct. For clarification, I was only referring to his play (even though it wasn’t accurate to describe it that way anyway) and nothing about his character or anything of that sort.

To answer the question, if it were my son, and some random non-fan on a message board described my D-I son’s play on the field as “trash” or the relatively mundane “awful” or the even more derogatory “shitty” (which are all implying the same thing) I wouldn’t like it of course, but I wouldn’t get particularly offended or care about it too much, and would know it comes with the territory. Still, the middle word choice there would’ve been the more humane choice and the word I should’ve used (even if an inaccurate assessment in this case) and will use moving forward. Thank you for your call-out.

The overall point was Clemson last year was a good, not a top-tier win, but that was proven when they were full-strength against us in the ACC Championship and their subsequent performance in the Playoff against OSU, so really just re-hashing what we already knew. New season tonight.
