Super good and comparative examples by Gregmorrissey

The EPL:
The team that finishes at the top of the league after everybody has played their 38 matches are crowned Premier League Champions. There is no playoff system to determine the winner, unless two (or more) teams finish at the top with exactly the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored.

And the fucking Ivy League. Genuine arguments no doubt. Also, fair to point out that in both instances all of the teams in the leagues have played each other, correct? In fact, they’ve most likely played each other twice.

Hopefully, rather than actually play the next World Cup, we just let the media or a group of disinterest coaches, computers, or maybe a small committee vote on who the champion is. That sounds like a way better and more fair approach.

And, since we’re just cherry-picking parts of posts, I’ll choose to only focus on your admission that “Sure, a playoff won't destroy college football” and say I agree 100%. In fact, I think a 12 team playoff will make college football more popular than ever, and I don’t think a single participant will bemoan its “lack of uniqueness”.
