Little more than just the coach by TMCT

I saw on the ND-Louisville telecast from 2 yrs ago that Louisville essentially hired a European recruiting agency to find 23-24 yr olds that weren't going to make it as pros in Europe and wanted access to the US market for whatever reason - then stocked their roster with them.

I love having international players in sports but always thought what made college athletics special was the bond between students and student athletes. Marshall seems to have gone heavy on the international route as well. If the NCAA is going to be a mjaor part of our developmental program for athletes then soccer, tennis, and golf are in trouble b/c we have 17-18 yr old kids competing with 22-23 yr olds for scholarships or even roster spots right now.

It just feels like Marshall, Louisville etc are essentially operating pro teams in the collegiate market which is their prerogative. But if ND went the "talent above all" route and started taking 10-15 JUCO and transfer portal guys a year versus developing a roster I don't think it would go over well.
