complaining about OL recruiting? by DBCooper

and a 3 star, 62nd ranked CB who went to Northwestern? And Paye was a 3 star DE who picked Mich after decommitting from BC. I assume he was a late riser? Ok, would have been a good find, but it sounds like Harbaugh took a shot with him with limited downside (he had 4 other four star DEs in the class). It worked out for Mich, but its not like he was a 4 or 5 star recruit who wanted to come to ND. Additionally, considering who else Mich recruited that year at DE I doubt anyone on their coaching staff saw him as a future early NFL draft pick either. Some times you just get lucky.

There are things to complain about in recruiting. Plenty. But, this just sounds like trying to find anything to bitch about.

If we had the 62nd CB coming to ND you would be the first poster to complain that we only can get 3 star CB recruits here and Jospeh needs to go. And then you actually would have reasons to complain.

Most college teams take a few flyers on 3 star guys they see something in. Usually they are extra players with perceived high ceilings, but if they dont work out it doesnt hurt much. JOK was one such player. I dont see you praising Kelly for finding him. But, overall, usually these risky recruits dont pan out.

I rather complain over the lack of finding a good QB who improves over time. Or complain about persistent weakness in other positions where we do not find constant 4 or even 5 star players. But, complaining because some 3 star guys that Kelly didnt offer actually panned out doesnt do much for me.

Posts like this are why you have the reputation of just complaining all the time. You have to pick your spots better.
