Curious about Board Lawyer's views by novadamer

Since the B1G returns to the Irish schedule this year, I think this Washington Post article is relevant. The gist is that the B1G's leaders were using e-mail to discuss whether to hold/postpone/cancel last year's season. Then they had a discussion of whether their exchanges might be discoverable under State private records law, then they decided to move to the B1G portal (what that is exctly is unclear). When later asked by media like the Post, they only provide the earlier e-mails, then state they have no further records. Hmmmmm.

Money quote from UM President Mark Schlissel, “but perhaps we can do this through the Big 10 portal, which will assure confidentiality?” and "if you simply delete emails after sending, does that relieve you of FOIA obligations?"
