Isn't this about half the story? by bmef

ND could offer everyone in the top 100 but it doesn't mean they could gain acceptance. Nor does it mean they won't be expected to go to class, complete research projects, etc.

Many of these top 100 kids aren't focused on education. Their focus is to hone their football skills and make it to the NFL. Schools like AL are about developing football players. ND is focused on a well rounded person.

And, I am asking this as a question. It seems to me that kids don't want the extra hassle of actually attending classes and working toward a degree which cuts the numbers who would actually want to accept to scholarship to ND?
