If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. Now, how do we convince one of them to move to ND instead of moving to HC positions?
Seriously, we need a longer list than a DC that beat a full strength Clemson or Alabama. In the last 4 years Clemson has had one loss to Syracuse, one to LSU, and one to Alabama. Two of those DCs are now Head Coaches. In the same time period Alabama has lost to Auburn (twice), LSU, and Clemson. One of those DCs is a head coach, one seems to want to stay at Clemson but is talked about as a future HC, and finally we have Steele at Auburn. He might be available since he didn't get the Auburn HC spot.
If I read Wikipedia correctly (and I know you know if this is right) Barry Alvarez came to ND from Iowa where he was the linebacker coach and this is the sort of hire I think we should be looking for. We should be looking for an outstanding position coach who has been very successful on the staff of one of the best DCs, not a retread DC.
