• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.

1991 Orange Bowl by irishfaninbethel

Just finished watching the 10-9 loss to Colorado in the 1991 Orange Bowl. Of course, all that I have always remembered from that game was going bananas in front of the television when Rocket Ismail returned the punt return for the apparent game-winning score -- called back with the "phantom" clipping penalty.

I forgot that our special teams left seven points on the field with two missed field goals and a missed extra point. And forgot how "giving" we were with four turnovers. Damn, that was our game.

Rocket Ismail --- Damn, was he something. Truly every time he touched the ball he was legitimately a threat to score. We have not had anyone like that since. What "special" truly means.

That team was loaded --- beat five ranked opponents, lost to two ranked teams.

Cannot wait for 2020 season!!!!! We. Are. ND.
