Notes from the MSU match.

1.MSU had tall and powerful hitters and blockers. When they had their offense completely in synch during stretches of the first and second sets, they had the Irish reeling.

2.ND depends on sound fundamentals and quickness. The ND players stayed focused on their game plan and found a way to win the first two sets. By the third set, MSU seemed to realize that they weren't go to win the match.

3. MSU had one service ace and nine services errors for the match. That eight point differential proved to be the difference in the match. ND had four aces and four errors. For the season, ND opponents are minus 50 points in the serving game.

4. ND broke even in blocks with 13.5 to the much taller MSU squad. Meg Morningstar had 7 for ND.

5. Jemma Yeadon at 5'9 held her own against a front line that was often 6'5, 6'4, and 6'2. She had a match-high 19 kills.

6. Congratulations to the ND coaches for building the fundamentals and confidence of their team that will only improve as the season progresses.
