home victory over a top 25 team. After this weekend, it is all ACC matches for the remainder of the regular season.

only other ACC team receiving only 10 votes, just ahead of ND, out of the 36 total teams getting votes. Other conferences are dominant in VBall like the Big 10 which has 8 teams ranked and 1 other receiving votes and the PAC12 having 6 ranked (all ahead of any ACC team) and 2 others receiving votes. Also the Big12 has 3 teams ranked, West Coast Conference with 2 team, and even the Big East has 1 team ranked ahead of the highest ranked ACC team.

Beating Big 10 teams will help ND and the ACC, but ultimately they need to win in the tourney. Last year 10 of the Final 16 were from the top two conferences with the PAC12 winning it all (Stanford) over Texas and two Big 10 teams made out to complete the Final 4. Only 17 schools have comprised the 72 teams that have been to the Volleyball finals, but none from the ACC. The list includes 6 PAC12 schools, 5 Big 10 schools, Texas, BYU & Florida (both once as runner ups) and Long Beach State, Pacific, & Hawaii (but none of those 3 appearing since 2001).

Hopefully with a NC coach from the PAC12 ND can help change things up in the ACC.

rebuild an ignored program. They don't offer excuses and timelines. THey have a play, this proven, and they execute the plan.

Well done, especially dispatching big 10 foes.

It sounded really exciting...

I was just following it on gametracker, but both teams sounded tough, each overcoming the other team's lead in the first two games. It was back and forth in both of those games, but in both the Irish refused to be beaten at the end. That seemed to break the backs and the spirit of the Spartans in the third game, when the Irish jumped out to the lead and pretty much kept it throughout. MSU seemed like a very good, tough, proud team. But the Irish were a bit tougher. It seemed like an important, defining match. This coach must be pretty darn good.

A few years ago it seemed that most of these games were broadcast and if we couldn't see the match we could listen to it. Gametracker beats nothing but not by much.
