Personally, I think he has the most raw talent on the team alongside Modric and should have been our centerpiece after Ronaldo moved on, but he also didn't fit Zidane's system and it's hard to argue against a legend who just won back to back CL's. The front looked impossible to break into with Ronaldo-Bale-Benzema locked in, and Vasquez/Morata off the bench, and he's also a bit frozen out from attacking midfield with Modric/Kroos, but seeing him go to one of the three (Barca, Munchen, Juventus) teams most likely to knock us out for a de facto free transfer really pisses me off. Heck, while I wanted him to stay, I think a $70MM transfer to United or Chelsea in the EPL, PSG, or either Milan could have worked, but Bayern has been right at the top the last few years and IMO this will be the missing piece that puts them over.
