The News About Bri Takes Some Edge off O-No

First, continued good vibes and wishes to Bri on her recovery and am super psyched that she decided to come back for a fifth year (as opposed to going pro).

Second, it would've been great if O N-O had made us a finalist, but let's not think the sky is falling here in terms of one player.

In 18-19, we'll have two former All-Americans on the court at the same time with Brianna Turner and Jessica Shepard. Plus, our two current frosh, Mikayla Vaughn and Danielle Patterson, will have a year under their belts. They will be joined by incoming frosh Danielle Cosgrove. What this does is give us five bigs, four of whom have experience. It also makes the Class of 2019 critical for bigs and -- maybe -- for guards, too, depending on how the rest of 2018 goes.

I think we'll have to temper expectations this year and hope we're ready to rock and roll in 2018. Given this news, I now know why MM is pushing for a true PG for the rest of those players (Bri, Jessica, Jackie, Arike and Marina).

The issue is making any class critical.

Ideally, they'd all be balanced. We don't live in an ideal world, but it gets even worse if any particular year hits the critical level for a position. Especially when that position is in the post.

ACC teams as well

It hurts worse that Duke and Fla. State made the cut. How Duke continues to recruit well with McCallie there is a mystery? Fla. State has been killing it in recruiting. ND needs to step up or risk falling behind.
