Sorin about him, before condemning him today on the basis of decisions he made during his presidency or an anti-war protest during the Viet Nam era. I was in AFROTC at the time of that protest in 1967, but wouldn't have known him, if I saw him. Of course, I was keeping my eyes focused while I marched...

He continues to live in Sorin and seems to be well-liked there, as well as being a long-time supporter of NDWBB. I know some ND graduates who took his university seminar class for freshmen and reported that he was an excellent teacher and mentor.

His interactions with us seemed down to earth, which as a student was amazing. I was always aware that he was not well liked as Pres. Jenkins was there my final year and I had several good talks with him.

I will do so. While his actions now may be nice, they do not

absolve him of his earlier misdeeds or the continuing effects of his disastrous tenure as president. Priest or not, he will get nothing but scorn from me. If that sends me deeper into purgatory (if I am lucky), then so be it.
