I was happy to have experienced a 36-11 record, esp. given what happened 2 years after I graduated.

When JS was a senior, a Grace soph was so upset when Irish fell to 7-3 (after bad loss at Pitt) that said soph called Hesburgh to complain about Devine. Of the long bill of particulars against JS, his concsious lowering of standards from the standards of his time at ND is high on the list.
