How freaking hard is this? Agents probably called him, if only to get a raise from their client's current employer. He could have directly called another 5-7--many coaches have the same agent and these agents aren't hard to find. I have a fulltime job, and I have a short list of potential coaches for ND at all times.

Background checks are far easier today than in the O'Leary days. It is almost a clearing house.

For me it is Matt Ruhle. He is probably souring on the pro game. In college, recruiting allows a coach to control his own destiny. With PSU committing to Franklin, the chance that Ruhle leaves quickly for PSU is greatly lessened. Ruhle is an intelligent guy, hard worker and he builds toughness in his teams.

Fickell is the father of 6 and Catholic. He is another guy who believes in toughness. I dig him too.

Freeman is the floor, and that isn't bad. He is better than Davie, Willingham and Weis right off the bat.
