was that ND had an excellent OLine...then Holtz would pound the defense with Brooks/Watters for three quarters. The D was worn down by the OLine and then Ismail would come in and be a step faster and he was running on a tired D. It was an amazing strategy and, although predictable, was difficult to stop

… can’t remember which one but I remember the quote after Ismail started to get more and more carries out of the backfield.

It was something like:

“The rest of the country is in major trouble. Lou finally figured out that he should put that kid at tailback.”
