3 first team all Americans. 2 of top 5 Heisman vote getters TE Ken MacAfee and DE Ross Browner. C Dave Huffman, ML/MG Bob Golic and DE Willie Fry made some all American teams. HB Vegas Ferguson was a 1st round draft choice.

Then, that Joe Montana guy was pretty good once Devine let him play.

The 1977 team is impossible to compare to any other team. They had amazing talent that didn’t blossom until Montana played.
