Roster Updates from BK press conference

As noted in a post below, WR Lawrence Keys has left the team. He's planning to sit out the season, graduate from ND, and transfer to another program.

TE Kevin Baumann is out for approximately the next 6 weeks with a broken fibula.

LT Blake Fisher is out for approximately the next 8 weeks with a meniscus injury.

LB Shayne Simon is out for the season with a torn labrum.

LB Paul Moala had surgery for an Achilles injury (the other foot after tearing Achilles last year).

Due to the injuries to Simon and Liufau, LB Prince Kollie has been moved inside from the Rover position and is now in the two-deep.

Because there's not much depth at Rover now, WR Xavier Watts has been DCEd to the Rover linebacker position.

Jordan Botehlo and C'Bo Flemister are still "unavailable" for this week.

Remember how shocked and appalled Kelly was when someone suggested Botelho was suspended?

Of note, C'Bo Flemister, who is also "unavailable" without explanation, had some legal issues this summer.

Edit: Ops, please delete if this violates Rule 27

All charges were dropped *

I thought he took pretrial diversion

I realize that pretrial diversion versus all charges dropped may be a distinction without much practical difference to most people if Flemister completes the terms of the diversion program, but it's not quite the same.

late October/November will not be kind...

If he has to play LB, we're in some trouble...

According to Kelly he will play, at Rover, this weekend.

He was two-way player coming out of high school, WR/S prospect. He's not much smaller than Moala. Maybe he'll surprise.

Perhaps he blitzes well or can cover well

there were rumors on watts leaving in the spring. heard comments on a keyes podcast last night that another WR leaving was a possibility.

We don't have a safety that can move down and play?

Seems like all ND does is move safeties to LB and now there are no options.
