Isn’t one of the simplest defensive schemes of the last ten years Alabama? I remember watching a clip with Saban talking about why his schemes are typically rather simple and it boiled down to what you are saying- why the hell would you do anything except “run fast, hit hard, get football” when you have such high levels of talent?
