Graham Mertz is now the poster child for the peril of NIL
by Irishdog80 (2021-09-04 16:03:52)

You put the spotlight on yourself instead of the team and put added pressure on YOU to perform. Mertz is a talented QB, but creating your own personal logo and doing interviews with the networks before you have even won a truly big game is putting yourself ahead of team...a recipe for disaster.

Kids in Africa will soon be sporting Graham Mertz logo apparel.

Hard to believe someone wants that merch. *

I'm happy we have Coan. I think Chryst believed that ....

.... Mertz, even if behind Coan, has a higher ceiling. So he decided to stick with Mertz even after Coan recovered from his injury. Chryst may be right about the ceiling, but Mertz isn't far enough along to carry the load.

Coan was 12-6 as a starter at Wisconsin.

Some of those Badger fans are misremembering that he wasn't Johnny Unitas and that in 2019, he had Jonathan Taylor in the backfield to lean on and even then, they lost four games (three losses were to top-6 teams).

I am hoping that with more maturity, he raises his game with ND.

13-6, one loss in 2018 was to #21 ranked PSU. He also beat

His Wiki page is only showing 12 wins. Which game

There is no "I" in Mertz, but there is a "me." *
