If you're not Saban or Urban, you need an elite QB to win it

The omission of Tebow in your chart for 06 and 08 is glaring.

Tebow was a great college QB, but Urban managed to win in ‘06 with Leak as the main QB and in ‘14 with a third-stringer who just appeared in the Big Ten championship and then rolled through the playoff.

In any case, Urban is the only coach other than Saban to win a championship since ‘07 without an elite QB, so it seems highly unlikely that anyone other than Alabama or a team with a truly elite QB is going to win the national championship these days.

Does Tebow count for '06? That was Leak's team *
