He threw for the cubs and a few other teams this off season. He made $16 Million a year with the Giants. Teams chose not to offer him a rotation spot and he likely passed on minor league deals.

Some one posted that his career MLB earnings compare favorably with the best NFL Wide Receivers of all time.

In comparison, Calvin Johnson (same draft class) made $110m

in career earnings compared to approx. $122m for Jeff (although CJ did leave some money on the board by retiring earlier than expected). I imagine $122 million goes a long way in Valparaiso.
