I think it's not a difficult problem to solve

They shouldn't make characters look like actual players; all the money from the video games should be plowed into a vehicle that benefits education, like a trust or a pension fund or health care fund or what have you for scholarship athletes.

I do not support making a commercial enterprise with agents and branding and what not. Or having kids hustle money on the side with seedy characters making promises or hustling them.

This makes so much more sense than what they’re proposing. *

Genie is out of the bottle.

You seem to be giving up on the principle of amateurism *

the real solution would be for the professional league to create a true minor league which would give players a choice; that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Notre Dame could have led the way on this, but instead has been "monitoring the landscape" and the money has gotten out of control and coaches are now making 10+ million per year, with staffs of 30+ guys, major bowl contracts and tournament money, etc.

It is the de facto minor league.

And besides, even if one were to accept "amateurism" it is ridiculous that someone cannot profit off of their own name, image, and likeness.

I don't care about video games

the horse is out of the barn as it relates to "seedy characters" and the like hustling kids. Check out the link for more proof.
