Bo Paterno?
by mocopdx (2020-07-30 12:43:31)

"Bo Schembechler, the legendary University of Michigan football coach, knew about the alleged sexual abuse of the late Dr. Robert E. Anderson, according to a federal lawsuit filed Thursday.

...

But the new allegations add Schembechler, one of the most beloved and nationally admired figures in sports, to the list of UM officials who allegedly were alerted to the exam room behavior of Anderson without doing anything to stop him. Schembechler is the most high-profile and well-known among five other UM officials who allegedly were alerted about Anderson, who worked at UM for more than 30 years. "

Canham retired as the AD and Bo took over. He knew back then and bumped it up the chain of command as he thought it wasn't his job, then when he became the AD and it was his job, he did nothing.

Bo will however continue to be admired and revered by Mich fans. Michigan Sucks.

The Bo was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.

Either way, I don’t post this as a gleeful “ha, you fuckers!”. It’s a horrible event and one more example of a prominent institution botching the handling of abuse to maintain their status and reputation. No one should be happy to read these stories.

It didn’t happen here. No matter what “it” is. Big difference.

The Rocket loved Bo

I and countless other ND fans admired Bo for his stupidity.

And for his ring-less hand and stellar Bowl record.

One of the best posts on NDNation was when someone posted

"Today Is Bo's Birthday."

And then some other poster replied: "Send him a birthday card signed 'The Rocket'. And then send him another one."

the hubris of Bo..."my special teams are so much better than Lou's" Bo was 0-3 in his last three ND games...and if we had a real ref in '86, Joel Williams catch would have been a TD and it would have been four straight losses.

two great trivia questions
by irishrock  (2020-07-30 17:30:34)     cannot delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

First, there have been 8 players who have had 2 kickoff returns for TD's in a single game. One's done it twice.

Rocket vs Michigan and Rice

Second, only two RB's from the same school in the same year have rushed for over 1,000 yards in their NFL rookie season...who were they?

Reggie Brooks and Jerome Bettis (most people will think it is Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown from Auburn)

That startled me as well.... *
