the pitchers are usually the tallest on the team. For example Kleist, the ace on the Ducks, is 5-11 and the other two Elish and Balint are both 5-8. CWS champ Oklahoma's ace Paige Parker is 5-11 and their other two pitchers are 5-10 and 5-8.

Still Florida's senior ace Delaney Gourley went 65-10 over her career is only 5-4. Her last two yaers she had 40 wins and her ERA was .72. She pitched 7 games in this years NCAA post season where she was 5-0 in 38.2 innings. She pitched 8 innings in the epic 1st game against Oklahoma, giving up 2 run in a no decision. She finished the second game in relief giving up one run in another no decision. Florida lost both games by 1. Still she ended her career with 2 national championships.

Wouldn't it be fun if 5 ft 3 Hollloway had a career like 5 ft 4 Gourley. Just wishing.

a critical component in generating velocity. Hopefully she has very long fingers which is the key component in spinning the ball. There is a bio-mechanical reason successful D1 pitchers with her size are an anomaly. I would like to know what other D1 schools offered her. I wish her the best.

Really interesting re Gourley. Thanks. *
