I guess the "A" helps people not pronounce her name in a way that makes Rebekah sound easy.

I had a student named Brianna Kuntz. She pronounced her name with the long "u" but she wasn't so fortunate when I took role the first day of class.

I also had a Kelby Bates. It took a couple of times for me to realize why other students kept saying "He's a master" every time I took role.

I'm not very bright with names.
