Some time back I had posted about the 35 yo patient I had who was diagnosed with OSCC of the tongue without any known risk factors. He was staged after surgery as T1N0M0. Just found out today, about 9 months after seeing him in my office for the original evaluation that they will be putting him in hospice shortly. I know this particular cancer has a high rate of recurrence and prognosis is usually grim, but was still shocked to hear of his rapid deterioration after reading the surgery report.
