Every customer survey I've received in the past couple of years has had a very direct response on their seating policy. Their preboard policy has turned into a means for any person that has a C boarding position and doesn't want to check a bag just requests preboarding. I've been on flights holding an A1 boarding position and the plane is 20% full before I board. I've curtailed my use of Southwest for that very reason. Unfortunately, between the convenience of MDW to my home and my usual destinations I'm kind of trapped. They have have really changed post Covid and not fore the better. Assigned seating would be a step in the right direction.
