It seems like with most positions when the offense shoots it either scores or the ball hoes out of bounds and back to the offense because of the guy on offense behind the net.

It would be good to help speed up the game though in terms of more action.

Hits the pipe or goes in. So if an offensive player takes a "shot" that doesn't hit the goalie but goes out of bounds won't reset the shot clock (like an air ball in basketball) that doesn't count as a shot on goal. the offensive team will have a minute to get a shot on goal and if they don't they lose possession.
