Batiste

He has won 75% of approximately 350 faceoffs this year. Without his performance, Denver might not even be in the tournament. Faceoffs are such an important part of the game that a great faceoff expert is almost a necessity in the quest for a NC. I hate to admit it but Batiste has had our number for the past years and that alone has cost us losses. I wish him well but I am happy to see him graduating.

It is one of the reasons I want a shot clock put in

The specialization by face-off man has made face-offs absurd win percentages absurd. Just 10 years ago, Hopkins was winning with guys that stayed on the field. There should be no way a guy/team wins 14 face-offs in a row. They need to get the wings back in play instead of the domination that it is.

Take for example when the score was 2-1 - Denver at the start of the 2nd quarter. Denver held the ball took some shots but not one would I call in a highly threatening area but it was enough to keep the stall call off. There is no reason a team should be rewarded with possession of the ball for 4 minutes without putting it on cage.

He's a Junior....one more year losing to him (them) *

With him only being a junior and completely destroying us twice this year, I don't see how we beat them unless we come up with a great faceoff specialist of our own or he becomes injured. I am not looking forward to playing Denver again with Batiste.

Recruit an elite FO guy and we can win 40%, rather than 10% *

Not sure ND can win enough faceoffs to overcome 5-1
