Never cared much but now I am having a mid life crisis. I can't stand what my wife buys me anymore. No more banker's cut Brooks Brothers shirts for me.

Gave up my Diet Coke habit 9/1/04 - used to drink 2-3 before 8AM; Not big on carbonation either. Mostly wine.
Political Philosophy:
Hard to classify these days: Socially liberal, yet pro life. Fiscally conservative, yet believe in a social safety net (appropriately calibrated). Economically hands off, yet believe in regulation and enforcement of key rules to ensure a level playing field. Big on free trade but see need for uniform rules across countries. Want a strong defense but horrified with the concept of nation-building. See all that is horrible with unions, but I am a former member of the USWA so I understand why they exist. I have evolved over time towards a pragmatic approach to governance focused on finding solutions for the many problems we have. Sadly, time is running out.
Religious Philosophy:
Raised Catholic but lapsed over the past 30 years (started when I went to ND). Culturally I am a Catholic, but doctrinally, not so much. I am no longer a believer in one true religion - so many arguments about meaningless stuff. God's capacity to love and forgive gives hope to us all.
Musical Favorites:
Mostly 80's stuff. But I try to keep up with newer songs through my car ride listening to the radio (and my kid's I-Pod). Loving the return synthpop with the 2nd wave.
