Alumni Status:
BA 1998 History/Sociology/Busch Light
Location:
Washington, D.C.
Favorite Baseball Team:
I love and hate the Cubs as Gollum loves and hates the One Ring
Natural Enemies:
This one chick from law school (don't get me started)
Athletic Ability:
None discernable. Love downhill skiing and tennis, but am lousy at both
Sartorial Style:
Boring. Suits all week. Consistent underperformer on the weekends.
Favorite Beverage and Consumption Freq:
Red wine, particularly CA cab and syrah, when things are going well. Tequila and Squirt when they're not.
Political Philosophy:
Moderate, but tend to lean left.
Religious Philosophy:
Skeptical. To me, the Catholic Church was once a positive force for social justice, but has lost touch in recent years. Many of its modern-day "crusades" do not resonate with me.
Musical Favorites:
Eclectic. Right now, the Chili Peppers, a little bit of Audioslave....and....[deep sigh] a fair amount of Velvet Revolver. Feels good to get that off my chest.
Favorite Quote from an ND Coach:
"Honestly, I'm surprised you made it these years without getting fired."
Said to me, a lifeguard, by the Director of the Rolf's Aquatic Center, "Coach" Dennis Stark. People called him "coach," though I am not sure that he ever coached anything.
Miscellaneous Data:
A picture of Fr. Hesburgh with MLKjr. hangs in my office. To me, this, more than anything, represents what Notre Dame is about.
