ND needs to add some targeted "Analysts" to their staff. by Hickster

ND needs to provide additional support to coaches that have great upside potential, but may lack the required experience/wisdom in their positions - to give them the best chance to be immediately as successful as possible. Based upon recruiting trends, ND has the player and talent to be a NC contender in 2023 (depending on immediate QB development and recruiting). ND needs immediate success to keep the positive momentum rolling.

Needs:
- A former Head Coach who can privately mentor Freeman, exchange ideas - somebody he can trust to help navigate head coaching issues he has not experienced. Provide Head Coach confidential wisdom for Freeman

- A former Offensive Coordinator with a excellent offensive mind. Rees has not had much exposure to an elite offensive mind. Rees mentors have primarily been Kelly and Chuck Long. ND needs somebody who has had great success in developing QBs.

- An excellent former OL Coach. Rumor has it the Chris Watts will be the new OL Coach. He has exceptional potential based upon his ND & NFL OL experience, his nasty disposition as a player, his ND experience as a GA and only a year at Tulane as a OL coach (so he has experienced success and failure in his first year as an OL Coach - if he can be good at his position he will learn a lot from his mistakes). Watts is exceptional in knowing what to do to be an elite OL player, but has he learned how to teach it and mentor the players. The obvious candidate for his mentor would be Harry Heistand (currently lives in South Bend and coached Watts for 2 years).

Freeman can mentor the new DC

Candidates:
QB/OC mentor:

- David Cutcliffe
Eight quarterbacks whom Cutcliffe coached in college have gone on to play in the NFL: Heath Shuler, Peyton Manning, Tee Martin, Eli Manning, Erik Ainge, Thaddeus Lewis, Sean Renfree, and Daniel Jones.
Cutcliffe was hired by ND as a OC, bur never coached due to heart conditions so he is open to being at ND.
- Potentially others

Head Coach Mentor:
- Perhaps Cutcliffe could also perform this position, although not great success as a Head Coach.
- I leave it up to others to recommend other candidates.
