Important notes on articles:

• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Not every article needs to be discussed. The more the hair-pulling articles are discussed (e.g. ESPN Page 2), the more the authors will write hair-pulling articles.

He spent 4 years at ND & 3 years at the Farm and he gets taken by the Snanty One? The "Get Used to It" strategic genius who went for 2 up by 11? Le Blanc & Jenkins getting taken by The Soon to be Former Utah Coach in '04 was far more excusable--Meyer is far more shrewd. Plus, it was a 1-time event, not 12 years of covering for a preventable death, NCAA sanctions, and interviewing w/ Iggles when he should've been focused on a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Think about it--BK is the first ND HC in HISTORY to voluntarily leave for another job. This isn't 17-23 Kuharich leaving for a NFL job that his buddy Rozelle created for him (and then landing the Iggles job). It's not Faust leaving for Akron after getting shown the door. It's not even Holtz taking the S Car job after a TV sabbatical. This is ditching ND for another high-profle college job.

It's unprecedented, it's embarrassing, and it's all on the Savvy one.
