You're looking at stats too much and not enough at results by pmcdnd96

n 2017, Riley lost two games by a total of 13 points with one of those losses being to an unranked Iowa State team that went 5-4 in the Big 12)

In 2018, Riley lost two games by a total of 14 points. including a game against Texas when they scored 21 4th quarter points and still lost and another where they got

In 2019, Riley lost one game by 7 to unranked Kansas State , and then got crushed by LSU in the CFP.

In 2020, Riley lost two games by a total of 10 points. to unranked Kansas State and unranked but eventual 9-3 Iowa State

In 2021, Riley lost two games by a total of 17 points to the only two decent teams they have played

You are giving Riley credit for recruitng and developing elite QBs...and when they underperform, giving Riley a pass. (And does he really get credit for Jalen Hurts?) You are giving him credit for recruiting elite skill position players...but ignoring the fact that we have had only one fewer QB drafted, one fewer RB drafted, and more WRs drafted since Riley took over. (We've also had 3 more TEs drafted if you want to count those as skill position players) You give him credit for staying competitive in his big games...yet he has failed to win the playoff games 100% of the time, which is the exact same number as Kelly.

My point is not that Riley is a poor coach. My issue is with you praising him as infinitely better than Kelly when their results have been similar and you have to positively spin everything Riley has done and negatively spin everythign Kelly has done to arrive at that conclusion.
