You can argue whether or not the ACC deal is good or bad (I personally think it’s ok, but really with it was a 4 and not 5 game commitment), but I don’t think anyone could have seen them falling off a cliff when we signed it. You very much could have argued it was the 2nd best conference at the time! If we could get it to 4 - and/or even try to push for more marquee games in the deal (which would be a win for them with TV ratings), then it could definitely work moving forward.

With Stanford becoming Stanford again, I really think it’s time we dropped both them and Navy from the schedule. There’s really no need to tie up 2 home and homes to subpar teams. We have more than paid Navy back, and that is a no-win game for us….even if they’re decent on the field. We should rotate the Stanford game to go through other west coast teams (let’s get Oregon on there every now and then for example!). Maybe replace Navy with a rotating Big 10 team (please let’s not have it be boring and have Michigan/MSU/Purdue every year. Rotate it to get Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska, or even Illinois occasionally). That would give us 2 Big 10 games most years and a more exciting overall schedule.

I’d love more SEC games (it looks like we are trying that!), but only if those guys agree to actually leave their region from time to time. Please no “neutral site” games in the south!
