• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Not every article needs to be discussed. The more the hair-pulling articles are discussed (e.g. ESPN Page 2), the more the authors will write hair-pulling articles.

You define ND by their best games, which I guess is beating two 4-4 teams at home in primetime by 15 and by 10, and look only at what ND has done recently. (Mea culpa, I had forgotten that the committee ranked Wisconsin 21. I lost track of them after win. That will be considered our best win. The pick sixes probably don't provide a margin that is usefully predictive but even a 31-13 victory would be a solid win.) But you don't define it as the team that needed a last second score to beat fucking Toledo.

You define all non-ND teams by their worst games and look primarily at what they did in the first four weeks if that makes them look worse. Mississippi State is the No. 17 team in the country that beat No. 14 A&M and No. 18 Kentucky in its last four games. A&M beat No. 2 Alabama and its last four games have had a notably higher offensive performance than its four four even though its last four have come against better opponents.

Anyone who would be a 10 point underdog or less has a shot against anyone else. Sure I could buy us being a touchdown underdog to A&M right now. What does that prove?

At best you are only incapable of thinking rationally about Notre Dame. But most people otherwise capable of rational thought are able to acknowledge that people shouldn't listen to them when it comes to subjects where reason goes out the window.
