Important notes on articles:

• Please do not copy entire articles into your post; rather, provide links to them.. We are now links-only for ALL Internet publications. If only a small portion of the article pertains to your post, Fair Use allows you to copy those one or two paragraphs, provided you cite the author's name and the publication for which he writes. Otherwise, put a link in the HTTP Link box.
• Even if you're copying a reference to an article, provide a link to the page from which the article came. We're trying to cut down on duplicate topics, and the posting process will check the link to your article to see if it's already being discussed on this board. At the very least, you'll save yourself some grief on the boards.
• If your first reaction after reading the article you're going to share is the author is uninformed / stupid / a jerk / all of the above, it's not worth sharing with anyone. Let's look at his track record. by Rockbrig97

2010 - beat Purdue week 1, but lost to Michigan and Michigan State the next two weeks.

2011 - South Florida. Let's move on. That was inexcusable.

2012 - Crushed Navy in Dublin...and looked really good while doing it.

2013 - Beat Temple easily, but lost to Michigan week 2. This was the Golson suspension year.

2014 - LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS GAME FOREVER! Beat Michigan 38*-0 Edit: I apparently forgot this game wasn't the season opener. Oh well, let's remember it anyway.

2015 - Crushed Texas at home.

2016 - Lost in OT to Texas on the road. We gave that one away. Unrelatedly, my brother lives in Austin and has some split allegiances (neither school is an alma mater), and this game caused a rift between us that lasted far too long before we reconciled.

2017 - Crushed Temple, then lost a close one to Georgia.

2018 - Beat Michigan at home

2019 - Beat Louisville on the road fairly handily.

2020 - Beat Duke, but I recall it being a lot closer than we would have liked.

I definitely feel like he's gotten his act together for the early games, particularly where there wasn't a lot of outside chaos.
